Delivery

Can I place an order by phone?

Yes you can order over the phone or on our website. Our friendly team are hand to help with any questions you may have about your order.

When do you deliver?

We deliver all items Monday – Friday excluding bank holidays. If you order before 11am, we aim to deliver the next day.

What is the delivery fee?

We offer free delivery on all products.

Where do you deliver to? 

We deliver nationwide using our partner carrier Pallet Express Network. For local deliveries (with 30km of Rathcoole, Dublin) we use our own trucks.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times will be given once you place your order. If ordered before 11am, we aim to deliver the next day.

What’s the difference between topsoil and compost?

Compost and topsoil are both great to add to your garden, containing beneficial organisms and nutrients. Topsoil is the top layer of soil above the bedrock and is good for building soil height up to the level you need. Compost acts as natural fertiliser and improves soil structure.

What is topsoil made of?

Topsoil is made from a mixture of sand, silt, clay and broken down organic matter, called humus.

What to do before laying topsoil?

First you need to clear the existing area, before adding your new soil. Loosen the soil already in the ground, turning about 5cm deep, this will help you get the best from your new soil. 

What is compost used for?

Compost is a naturally made product to help plants grow.

Does compost turn into soil?

Yes eventually it does make up part of what topsoil is.

Can I plant directly in compost?

While you can it is advised that you mix with soil as our compost is very rich in nutrients. The soil will also give you the structure you need.

How often should you add compost in your garden?

A top up every year before spring is advised.

How much compost or topsoil do I need for a 4×8 raised bed?

Will seeds germinate in compost?
Yes but you preferably should mix with topsoil to give structure and ensure the best success for your plants to thrive.

Is compost a fertiliser?

Yes it is a naturally produced fertiliser. It is full of rich nutrients.
